Venezia-Yelena Furniture has been developed by Yelena Abouaf, a Russian-born artist, who earned her degree in Fine Arts from the University of Southern California. The line consists of a wide range of armoires, desks, tables, space-saving storage, filing units, artist cabinets and beds. The unique style of Venezia-Yelena furniture integrates skeletal steel frames and inset wood panels, providing great versatility of design and balancing visually stimulating sculptural forms and functional content.
Because the Santa Monica, California-based Venezia/Yelena Studios are so close in proximity to RAWSTYLE GALLERY, Pearl often goes to the studio and works with the color artisans to create the perfect custom colors as well as any design needs her clients might have. Being so close also allows her to have better control of the work order - ensuring that everything goes smoothly for the ultimate customer satisfaction.
The urban gridlock structure of the furniture provides a basis for color patterns ranging from light washed pastels to subdued monochromatic to bright electric palettes. Simple architectural forms and whimsical colors fuse to highlight artistic expressiveness of Industrial Avant-garde, where the coldness of steel is contrasted by the natural warmth of wood. The hand-mixed finishes give each piece individuality and character.
